Introduction to the Axis of Independence

Introduction to the Axis of Independence

In December 2010, Caesary 1.5 was released, and with that release came a new type of NPC: the Axis of Independence (or AoI). The AoI is a series of progressively harder NPCs. There are a total of 17 types of troops you will fine in the AoI, divided into 4 lines plus an “ultimate enemy”. The four lines within the AoI are: Front, Light Armor, Heavy Armor, and Royal. Each of these lines have four difficulties: Squad, Squadron, Cohort, and Division. The AoI has 10 identical levels that reset every 8 hours. Each combination has a particular set of items that will drop within them, and each of them will assist you in procuring equipment for your heros. Your heros will also earn significant amounts of experience.

AoI Requirements

Each enemy line within the AoI has a particular rank you need to be in order to attack it. For the most part, this isn’t a problem – you cannot procure a Pacification Aglet (formerly a daily quest and currently a daily supply barter) necessary to launch an attack) without having Quaestor standing.

You also need to have each hero have at least 40 physical remaining. You will likely need a significantly larger number of heros than you normally use with the RC or the WSC because you are guaranteed to lose a specific amount of your troops. (For most of the lines, that number is 20%).

Enemy Troops

Each of the AoI lines have three heros, all of whom have Principes and Onagers. In the tables below, I list the divisions out for one hero’s troops. So, for instance, in the Front Squad (where it says there are 533-4,268-533 Principes and 133-1,068-133 Onagers), it means that each of the three heros has 5,334 Principes and 1,334 Onagers, for a total of 16,002 Principes and 4,002 Onagers.

Note: Provided locations are not consistent from server-to-server, but these should get you close.

Wrapping Up

In the coming weeks, I’ll discuss several popular strategies to use against the AoI. In the mean time: what is your favorite strategy to beat the AoI with?

  1. Will you ever show attack setups for other divisions in the front line besides the front squad? Especially interested in Front Cohort to start getting Code of Draco drops.

    Thanks!

    • Use Front Division, not Front Cohort, better drops there. Otherwise, it will depend on what I can capture today/tomorrow – my server is shutting down and I will have to start over.

      • Thanks Human Girl, I’d really appreciate it. And as far as that goes, I appreciate everything you’ve put up on your site so far, it’s all been really useful and I’m looking at stuff on here every day.

        Thanks again.

        • LeKool banned me on Augustus (my main server), probably because they are pissed I publicly named the new servers when they were trying to keep it a secret.

          Let me see if Pom remember’s Nosso’s login URL on 321… otherwise, it’ll be a few months before I get my 321 account up to speed ^^

          • Okay… even a ballpark estimate on how to structure a Front Division attack would be very helpful. Is it similar to a Front Squad setup, just with higher faculty heroes holding more guys?

            • I usually used my Rain Hat on AoI, but using D6HD5 as a formation, with a hammer with 50k-50k-50k cav (with equipment) will get you through Royal Division. Fearlessness Skullbearer would be better to use D6H3 with 150k cav as single stacks.

              • Okay HG, thanks again. Much appreciated.

  2. Were these the actual drop rates on your server, i never remember 2 of 2 emblems at the same time

    • These were the original drop rates. Many, many months ago, the devs reduced it to 1 Rome 1 Parthia, and 2 Egypt 2 Carthage without warning. Despite every single player complaining about the change, the devs in their infinite wisdom decided it was a good idea to do this.

      • Hey Jimmy, heard anything more about the lawsuit? I found your blog to be very informative, but it left me hanging. We’re starting to collect our X2 and B24 buddies on a Facebook page I created for our league so we can maybe go play together on another game in case this tent does fold up.

        • When can we get a setup for hitting Las and HA

  3. Man, everytime they tamper with the game they make it worse…why can’t they just leave it…it is always better when they leave it

  4. I was wondering if there was any confirmation on the official drop rates for Code of Dracos? Front Cohorts drop less than Front Divs, that’s true. But what about Front Divs vs Light Armored Squads? I don’t really want to waste my aglets finding out, hehe. xP

    • I don’t know exact drop rates, but in general…

      * Code of Draco: FSB > R Div > R Cohort > R Squadron > LA Squadron > LA Squad > F Div > F Cohort
      * Twelve Tables: FSB > R Div > R Cohort > R Squadron > HA Squad > LA Div > LA Cohort
      * Roman Law: R Div > R Cohort > R Squadron > R Squad > HA Div > HA Cohort

  5. Hey, Human Girl. I know Front Squads drop x1 Rome an Parthia Emblems now. But what does LAS drop? Do they drop x1 Rome and Parthia or x2 still? I’m only a Legate and almost a Dictator, so I can’t attack LAS yet.
    Thanks,
    Octavious Server Sparta

    • I think that everything drops 1x these days, but I haven’t played for a few months.

  6. dont front divisions drop lionhearts?

  7. you should start up the game again, but besides that you’re right, they have nerved the drop rate and it’s only one of each now

    • My callroma.com account was disabled.

  8. Very helpful! i would like to see a nice, simple minimum troop count chart for these if possible, but that’s not wholly necessary i guess. what would be nice is a chart of all the items in the game that you get from NPCs and what NPC drops it and at what level. this would include luxes, movers, bread, etc from wilds, dracos from AoI, bellos from WSCs/RCs, emblems from AoI/RC/wherever else, ande all the rest. this would be an extremely helpgful guide for the slightly newer players so that they don’t always have to ask either in LC or WC where to get things. thanks!

  9. Well that’s lame, make a new account ;P start over like a nooooob

  10. My favorite strategy to beat Aoi with is:
    1x LVL +100 hero with 40k/10/40k equites, on fs,fd,fc,las,lad,lac.
    3x LVL +200 hero with 40k/40k/40k equites and 3 dummys in middle of each heros, on has,had,hac,ros,rod,roc.

  11. CommentLove the game ! You need to offer setups for marauding the squads and skullbearer and such like you do for the 10 level wilds .
